Each year world-wide over 300 billion single-use cups are manufactured. 99% of these are never recycled.

You may think disposable coffee cups are recyclable because they’re made from paper but, it’s the polyethylene they’re covered in that makes them harmful to the environment. It helps keep the contents of the cup warm, but also prevents the cup from being recycled and leads to an extra 7,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year in Australia alone.

Between June 2018 - May 2019, 6.5 million coffees were ordered on Hey You, 238,000 of these were ordered using a reusable cup. At Hey You, we’re committed to helping customers make time for what matters. Whilst the war on time waste is a worthy one, we are grateful that companies like Huskee are on the front line fighting the war against non-recyclables.

We thought what better way to celebrate than to launch our partnership on ‘Keep Australia Beautiful Week’, a week to raise awareness about the simple things we can all do in our daily lives to reduce our impact on the environment.

From Monday 19th to Friday 23rd of August 2019, any Hey You customer that has a HuskeeCup can get free coffee from any HuskeeSwap site in Barangaroo.

They’re not that expensive, you’re doing your part to help the environment, and lots of venues reward the use of a reusable. You can pick up a HuskeeCup online here or you can find a list of Swapsites to purchase from here.

Order a coffee through the app and select the ‘HuskeeSwap’ option

After our free coffee promotion ends, next time you order ahead on the Hey You app, just click ‘HuskeeSwap’ at checkout, and your coffee will be waiting for you at the counter in a fresh HuskeeSwap! (Don’t forget to bring your previous HuskeeSwap, and check it in when you go to grab your coffee!)
