Your guide to a productive daily coffee

We’ve all heard it; ‘humans are creatures of habit’. And it’s true. We go about our lives executing hundreds of indelibly ingrained sub-conscious behaviours and procedures every day. But, to increase productivity, we must identify the habits that are wasting our time and/or energy, and then work out a different method to end up with the same or a better result. Or… you can just drink coffee.

BEWARE! If you line up for one coffee a day throughout your career, you will spend more than 2 months of your precious time standing in line — that’s actually a fairly realistic figure, taking into account annual leave, 5-day work weeks, and average wait times in Sydney.

Don’t get it twisted, coffee is a great thing. It has health benefits, it tastes good, it keeps you warm, and it can boost your concentration and productivity levels. But as you can see, it doesn’t come without a cost. Not just the ‘$3.50’ type, but also the time that’s lost in line waiting to get it.

If you wanna get the most out of your daily coffee and become more productive, you’ve gotta deal with this line sitch.

Here at Hey You we hate lines, so we’ve set out to obliterate those pesky time-wasters and give people back their time for things that actually matter. Our handy little app lets you beat the line, every single time. Here’s how it works:

  1. Open up the Hey You app and choose a venue from our thousands of partner cafés and restaurants.

  2. Select and place an order ahead of time – on the train to work, as you leave the office, as you’re approaching a venue, etc.

  3. Strut straight past the queue when you arrive and grab your order from the front counter.

  4. Spare a thought and/or prayer for the line-dwellers as you head for the exit with your goodies.
