That’s why we are excited to introduce Customer Recognition, a new feature that is now live in your Order Manager app. It’s a powerful tool designed to give you real-time insights into who your customers are, whether they’re loyal legends or fresh faces, so you can deliver a more tailored, personal service and build even stronger relationships.
Why We Built It
This feature is about empowering merchants with valuable customer insights – right when you need them. Every customer is different, and when you can see at a glance how often they order, how long they’ve been part of your community, and even if they’re a VIP, you’re in a better position to:

How It Works
When an order comes through the Order Manager app you will clearly see a customer status badge – both on the app and printed on the docket. These badges reveal key information about your customer:
Status | What it means | What you could say |

VIP | Assigned by you anytime, or automatically when someone becomes Loyal* | 💬 “Welcome back legend. Your usual’s ready!” 💡 Remember their go-to order or offer a surprise treat. |
Loyal | 10+ orders in the last 30 days | 💬 “You’re one of our regulars – we love it!” 💡 Greet them by name or highlight a staff favourite. |
Frequent | 6–9 orders in the last 30 days | 💬 “Back again! You're on a roll.” 💡 Offer something new they haven’t tried yet. |
Occasional | 2–5 orders in the last 30 days | 💬 “Hey there! Great to see you again.” 💡 Ask how their last visit was or recommend a seasonal special. |
One-timer | Ordered once in the last 30 days | 💬 “First time? Let us know if you have any questions.” 💡 Make a great first impression and invite them back. |
Returning | A Churned or At Risk customer who has just come back | 💬 “Hey, it's been a while. Good to have you back!” 💡 Thank them for coming back and ask if everything’s okay. |
Early Access for Premium.
Customer Recognition is part of your early access to Hey You Premium, and it’s free to use until the end of August. It’s currently available exclusively on the Hey You Order Manager app. No set-up is needed – just open your app and start recognising your regulars.
If you’re using a POS integration, this feature isn’t available yet but we’re exploring ways to bring similar capabilities your way in the months ahead!
